FAQ

We’ve got answers to commonly asked questions.

Appointments and Cabinet Installation Date

We set an install date with you based on what is suitable for both you and Kustom Kabinetry. We will then set a showroom appointment at least 6 weeks before the install date. We will set a “final measure” date at least 5 weeks before the cabinet install date.

A 75% deposit of the total cabinet and counter top cost is due at the final measure. The balance is due when the cabinet and counter top installation are complete.

Countertop, Sink and Faucet

Ideally, at least 5 weeks before the cabinet install date

Yes. If you buy the counter top and sink through us, the sink will be provided and installed by the countertop fabricator. Most sinks do not have the strainer baskets included, so you will need to purchase them or have your local plumber provide them when he hooks up the sink.

No, we do not sell faucets, but do recommend buying at least a medium quality faucet from a plumbing supply store. Some “name brand” faucets may be sold at national brand stores with cheaper internal parts. We recommend asking lots of questions before you buy.

Have it at the house least one day before the scheduled counter top measure.

No, we do not offer plumbing service. You will need to hook it up, or hire a professional plumber to do that for you.

If you plan to install tile or another surface on the entire back wall (between base and upper cabinets), you may not need the 4” splash. Otherwise we do recommend it.

Hardware Selection

You can choose your decorative hardware from our hardware display tower in the showroom. If you need more options, see www.amerock.com.

The knobs and pulls will need to be chosen 5 weeks prior to your cabinet install.

Appliances

No later than 5 weeks prior to the cabinet installation so that you can provide appliance model numbers to Kustom Kabinetry. This will allow us time to review the appliance specs to insure the cabinets are built to fit properly.

If you will be using existing appliances please provide appliance measurements or have our salesperson measure the appliances at the final measure.

It is ideal (not mandatory) to have all appliances at the jobsite by the day of the cabinet install.

Cooktop must be at jobsite one day before countertop measure.

Dishwasher must be installed one day before countertop install.
